As a result of his many years experience and the building of hundreds of pools, Steve is able to offer guidance in relation to positioning of the pool, to optimise its use and to add another dimension to the entertaining areas of the home, situation of seats/step/spa etc. However, extensive consultation with each client prior to providing a personalised and individual quotation ensures that the Client’s requirements are foremost. With each quotation, we provide a list of referees, whom prospective clients may contact for an impartial appraisal of the quality of our workmanship, the equipment provided and the smooth running of the project. Past clients will often display their pools to prospective clients – there you can see an actual pool that is being used by a family in a normal backyard situation. Internal Finishes/Coping (walkway) Materials Interiors of pools may have a 300mm waterline tile area, and a smooth quartz rendered remainder. There are also products such as ‘Beadcrete’, which has smooth glass beads within a quartz render for improved light reflection and sparkle. You may also choose to have the interior fully tiled. If a spa is included, this is always fully tiled, including the overflow to the pool. The choice is yours – there is a vast array of colours to choose from, to complement your home and garden. Again, coping materials vary and we are not locked in to one particular product. Man-made or natural sandstone are very popular and come in a range of colours and textures. Terracotta and bluestone (either natural or artificial) are also available. Filtration/Sanitisation Products We have dealt with one equipment supplier for the last 20 years, Pool water Products, who are a family business and provide us with the best local and imported products available on the market today. Their service, and more importantly, after sales service in assisting with equipment warranty issues is second to none and which is why we have remained loyal to the one supplier. We always use the highest quality filters and pumps in very adequate sizes to maintain a pools water quality. Salt chlorination is a very efficient method of sanitisation, and is also very pleasant to swim in water treated in this way. These units contain a time clock and also control the amount of filtering required each day. This is programmed to suit the individual pools requirements. Becoming more popular are the automatic chemical dosing products. These automatically test the ph (and chlorine levels in certain models) of the water, and dispense the correct amount of acid to maintain a correct acid balance. This not only improves water quality and comfort of swimmers, it also prolongs the life of the interior, and the equipment used in the filtration process. In-Floor Cleaning Systems Once only in the domain of the ‘rich and famous’ these automatic in-floor cleaning systems are installed in almost 100% of our pools. As our lives get busier, we want our leisure activities and products to reduce our workload, not add to it. We don’t want to spend time manually cleaning a pool, or removing a pool vacuum when using the pool, when all of this can be done for us. We use the Paramount PCC2000 in-floor cleaning and circulation system, which is the best product on the market today. Solar Heating We always use a minimum of 100% of the pool surface area in collector material. This is placed on the roof so as to maximise its potential to heat your pool. Our systems are fully automatic, with a roof sensor to detect a differential in pool water temperature and roof temperature, so that whenever the roof reaches a certain temperature greater than the water, it turns itself on. The control unit is programmable, to enable you to select the desired temperature of your pool – on an extremely hot day, you may wish to lower the temperature you would normally have set, and this is done at the touch of a button. Spas and Control Systems An attached Spa offers additional benefits and will compliment your pool. Great for entertaining and soothing those tired muscles after a hard day’s work, or some strenuous exercise. Great for the kids too, even when it is cold outside – they can still romp around and have fun when the pool is not in use. These days, the control systems used to operate the spa make it simple and quick to switch from pool to spa mode. You can pre-programme a desired time for the spa to be ready – one switch and fully-motorised valves turn the system from pool to spa, activating the heater, lights, spa-jets etc. Garden lighting and water features can also be operated from this unit. The new generation gas heaters can have your spa heated in about 30 minutes in winter, and of course less in summer, when the solar heating is operating. |
